The Utah Pride Center Board of Directors initiates its Selection Committee each fall for the coming calendar year. Any applications submitted that aren’t during the Open Call performed by the Selection Committee will be retained and provided to the Selection Committee at its inception.
Board Governance
The Utah Pride Center Board of Directors is responsible for developing the Utah Pride Center’s vision and mission, establishing long term goals, raising funds, and assuring financial accountability. Board members are also being developed as leaders through their involvement in various community task forces and community coalitions.

She is currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology. Tanya believes that the full value of life is gained by being and embracing yourself. She believes that there is always something positive to be learned from someone regardless of their color, culture, gender, sexuality, beliefs, age, disability, and/or economic background.

Chris is a business owner and has been involved in the development of start-up companies. She active in her community both politically and privately participating in fundraising activities and as an activist for LGBTQ+ and women’s issues.
Chris has recently returned from a humanitarian trip in Sicily to aide in the primary integration of displaced people.
She is a musician and has donated a significant amount of time and energy to encouraging and empowering young musicians.

Michael is passionate about community service, having served on the Utah Minority Association Board, Utah State Bar Young Lawyers Division Fit2Practice Committee, And Justice for All Community Center Continuing Legal Education Committee, and Multicultural Engagement for Utah civic engagement coalition. He currently serves as the Co-President of the Salt Lake Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League.
In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, checking out new restaurants, and catching up on his Netflix watchlist.
Michael is excited to join the Utah Pride Center Board because he recognizes and greatly appreciates the value of the Pride Center and the many services it provides. His hope is that the Pride Center will continue to be a symbol of safety and inclusion for years to come.
