Utah Pride Center provides LGBTQ cultural competency trainings through out the state of Utah. Utah Pride Center staff has extensive expertise working with the LGBTQ people, friends, allies and their families. In turn, Utah Pride Center has an established training program designed to promote professional development. Continuing Education Credits are offered for professions such as social work.
We know that developing cultural competency is a process that takes time (and is never done). Thus, Utah Pride Center hosts three levels of trainings, 101, 201 and 301, so that professionals have the opportunity to develop their understanding of LGBTQ topics in a manner that becomes richer and deeper over time. We do require participants to complete previous level trainings (or equivalent) before attending intermediate level trainings.
There are two avenues through which professionals serving Utah may gain training: in-house workshops or whole facility trainings. For the next in-house training please click here.
There are small fees associated with our trainings and scholarship opportunities are available. Please contact the Training Coordinator for information about fees.
