Calling All Gay and Gay-Friendly Hockey Players and Enthusiasts!
[Salt Lake City, Utah] January, 2011 - Whether you are gay, straight, girl, boy or somewhere in between, The Utah Gay Hockey Association (UGHA} is a fun group of hockey loving enthusiasts dedicated to developing the sport of hockey among LGBT and LGBT-friendly ice hockey enthusiasts. All skill-levels, from beginner to expert, are encouraged to join. Those who are new to the sport will have the opportunity to learn all of the basics, from skating to playing.
Hockey is one of the fastest growing adult recreational sports in America! The UGHA is dedicated to providing an opportunity for gay people and gay allies to play hockey in an environment free from harassment or discrimination. Our objective is to break down stereotypes about gay athletes, promote fair and competitive play, and develop leadership, coaching and player skills.
Our organization is focused on promoting teamwork, pride, and cooperation between gay and heterosexual athletes. It is also our goal to create a social atmosphere centered on both promoting the sport of hockey and having fun. We are currently in the process of forming a recreational co-ed gay/gay-friendly hockey team. Whether you¹ve played hockey before or are simply interested in learning a new sport, now is the time to get involved!
During the months of January and February, the UGHA will be conducting a "SKATE AND MEET" during public skating hours. Everyone is encouraged to get involved, including athletes of all skill-levels, fans, volunteers, and interested sponsors. To learn about SKATE AND MEET times, sign-up online at: www.utahgayhockey.com, or send an email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Embrace the SAGE Within
SAGE Utah is for everyone. The SAGE program is growing at a tremendous rate across this country, and our goal is to make Utah one of the most relevant, vibrant, and all encompassing. We are focusing on awareness, growth, and meeting the needs of all Elder Queers within the state, and it takes ALL of us to make that happen. It all comes down to one thing and that is our individual outlook on life. Please consider stepping up and embracing the SAGE within, become involved, connect, learn, laugh, create meaning, and most importantly share what only YOU have to give to others. To become involved--contact Charles Lynn Frost--SAGE Utah Program Manager, 801-539-8800 X36 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Monthly Support Groups
Engage your Spiritual Sage | 2-6pm, STARTING Sunday March 18th, April 22nd, May 20th | Utah Pride Center, Middle Meeting Room.
The poet Rumi said: "Don't run away from grief, o soul / Look for the remedy inside the pain. / Because the rose came from the thorn / And the ruby came from a stone." This group is a compassionate, safe, and healing space where we will tell our stories, explore what we can learn from the pain, deconstruct unhealthy religious beliefs, transform perceptions of the past, and align with our deepest truths—coming home to the divine wholeness that is our spiritual birthright. We'll also explore ways to reclaim what we lost if we left a religion and examine how to create the support systems we need. We hope you'll join us for this rich healing experience. Space is limited, so call now to get more information and reserve your spot. Call Martha Hales 801-532-3567 or email
