Salt Lake City’s premiere of SOME MEN by Terrence McNally will benefit the Utah Pride Center and Courage Campaign, in a one night only reading at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 7:30 pm.

Directed by Don Amedolia (Wicked), the play will be read by* John Glover (Tony award winner for Love! Valor! Compassion!), John Benjamin Hickey (Tony Award Winner for The Normal Heart), Justin Kirk (Angels In America & Weeds), Josh Stamberg (Drop Dead Diva), Matt Lauria (Friday Night Lights), Bryan Clark (House of Payne) local actress Joyce Cohen and music by Matt Gould with more actors to be announced. The performance is produced by Fran Pruyn, Susan Dietz and Tom Kirdahy and sponsored by the Pygmalion Theatre Company, Q Salt Lake, Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel and KRCL. *Celebrity cast is subject to change.

Some Men chronicles the lives of gaymen in the United States over the past 80 years, examining the challenges, the victories, the joys and the sorrows of this history through the prism of love and marriage.  SOME MEN had a successful run at the Second Stage Theater in New York City in 2007, with a cast that included Don Amendolia, Michael McElroy and Fred Weller. SOME MEN was commissioned by Susan Dietz and Peter Schneider and developed by the Sundance Institute Theatre Program under the direction of Philip Himberg.

Tickets for this benefit reading of SOME MEN are $125, $95, $75, and $50 which are available at www.arttix.org.  The $125 tickets include a post-performance, onstage reception with the cast and producers.
