Utah Pride is Moving!
Since 1998, Utah Pride has made its home in two leased buildings located at 300 W (351 & 361 N) in Salt Lake City. A number of years ago, Utah Pride's programs and services began to outgrow the space and work began to identify possibilities for the future. Last March, Utah Pride identified a viable solution and with the help of a major donor, purchased a two-story building on one of Salt Lake's busiest downtown streets - 400 S.
Plans to renovate the new building are moving along, but not fast enough. The design phase for the planned renovation of our new building is complete, but renovations likely won't start for over a year. To conserve donor dollars and take advantage of the new location, Utah Pride is moving!
Yes, we're moving, but not too far and before we're completely moved our youth will have a chance to finish out the school year. As of April 20, 2013, Utah Pride administrative offices will be in place at our new home. Our Youth Activity Center and our Trans* Program will remain at the current location until after the 2013 Utah Pride Festival. Our entire move will be complete by June 31, 2013. Cafe Marmalade will close permanently on April 13.
Our new address, as of April 15, 2013 is:
Utah Pride Center
255 E 400 S
Salt Lake City, UT 84111

Our new offices will provide much larger public spaces and meeting rooms, as well as facilitating more social and network gatherings. We are also right next to a Trax station, making the space more accessible to everyone.
There will be no change in operating hours or group scheduling procedures. The new building will be available for groups starting on April 29th. Those groups who are currently meeting will have space available in either building until June, at which point everything will finish moving to the new building. More details will be made to group leaders. Renderings of how the fully renovated building will look will be on display and an open-house will scheduled sometime in July to give everyone a chance to check out our new space.
Utah Pride has served the State of Utah's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and our allies for over two decades. As we look ahead, we realize our opportunity to grow and thrive as a critical resource of the state and community will rely on visionary leaders, who through their philanthropy will have an impact in an especially tangible and meaningful way. To that end, Utah Pride is engaged in organizing a team of business leaders and philanthropists to bring our capital campaign, a dream of a renovation, program enhancements and human capital initiatives, to life. Named the "Getting Centered Campaign," this campaign will reach out far and wide, and with your help renovation will begin in 2014 or sooner. If you are interested in making a donation to support our "Getting Centered" Campaign please click here. A website outlining the campaign is being designed and will be available in early summer to help answer any questions you may have.
If you have any questions regarding the move, please email them to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . We will respond as quickly as possible.
Queer Prom 2013: CLOSER

Saturday, April 20th from 8pm to midnight at the Salt Lake City Public Library.
Are you closer to your dreams this year?
Are you more aligned with who you really are?
What national and state laws have made members of our community closer to equality?
How does opening your heart to someone pave the way to becoming emotionally closer to friends and loved ones?
What does "closer" mean to you: a challenge, a promise, or a stepping stone?
This year's theme was chosen by LGBTQ youth at the Utah Pride Center. The video for Tegan & Sara's fun poppy song, "Closer" depicts a carefree party where friends celebrate themselves and each other. Watch the video here.
